Tropical cyclone advisories issued by the tropical cyclone advisory centres (TCAC): the advisories in force, those of the last 24 hours, and layers of the cyclone centres and cumulonimbus (CB) cloud areas. Data is refreshed every 5 minutes.

The advisory format is that of PANS-MET Table A7-3. To decode an advisory, pass its raw text to TC Advisory (ICAO).

Endpoints

GET /opmet-tc/geojson/points Cyclone centres of the advisories in force (Point FeatureCollection)
GET /opmet-tc/geojson/extent CB cloud of the advisories in force: polygon, or centre point with a radius
GET /opmet-tc/latest-snapshot Time of the newest data, {"snapshot": "YYYYMMDD_HHMM"} or null

For a map layer, poll /latest-snapshot and request the GeoJSON only when the value changes.

The CB cloud is a polygon when the advisory gives its boundary coordinates. When it gives only a radius around the centre (WI nnnNM OF TC CENTRE), the feature is the centre point with radius, radius_unit and top_fl; draw a circle of that radius.

Errors

503 The service is starting up; retry shortly

If a data source cannot be reached, the last received advisories stay available.
