The GRIB2 data from which the Calculated Winds Aloft & Temperature of the AIS PIB API are calculated, in a cloud directory. Use it to work with the model output itself in your own software.

These are model output files (NCEP Global Forecast System, 0.25° grid); they are not the official WAFS upper-air forecasts.
- Content: wind (U and V components), temperature and vertical velocity, worldwide, on the pressure levels 1000, 925, 850, 700, 500, 400, 300, 250 and 200 hPa.
- Issues: four cycles per day (00, 06, 12, 18 UTC), each available about 3.5–4 hours after the cycle time; forecast hours 0 to 24 in 3-hour steps.
- Retention: the last 2 days, i.e. about the last 8 issues; older issues are deleted.
- Files: one folder per issue (
YYYYMMDD_HH, e.g.20261018_06), one file per forecast hour (f000.grib2,f003.grib2…f024.grib2).
