All layers of the Tile Server, as XYZ / WMTS tiles in Web Mercator (EPSG:3857):

The last column shows where each layer is used in the ibonav.aero Interactive Map (section › group › layer in the Layers panel: Base Maps, Overlays, Weather, Aeronautical).

Aeronautical layers#

These layers are rendered by the Geo Server and kept in the Tile Server cache.

Map symbology: the symbols of the aeronautical layers are explained in the ibonav.aero User Guide.

• Pre-rendered (seeded) zoom levels: the zoom levels in the Seeded column are rendered in advance for the area 21°E–48°E, 31°N–46°N (Türkiye and surroundings) and served directly from the cache, so they load fast. They are rendered again when the aeronautical data is updated.
• Other zoom levels and areas: at the first request the tile is rendered live by the Geo Server, then stored in the cache and served from there. The first request for such a tile can be slow (several seconds); later requests for the same tile are fast.
• — in the Seeded column: nothing is rendered in advance; every tile is rendered at its first request.

Fixed pre-rendered layers#

Ready-made tile sets: all tiles are rendered in advance and served from storage; nothing is rendered at request time. Tiles exist only within the zoom levels and area of each set.

Proxied external tile providers#

Tiles of these providers are passed through the Tile Server and kept in its cache for the time shown; after that a tile is fetched again from the provider at the next request.

Some layers are available only with the required access (e.g. the Google, HGM and NATO layers in the Interactive Map); each provider's terms of use apply to its tiles.
