The geo server follows the standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), so it works with any OGC-compatible software — web map libraries (OpenLayers, Leaflet, MapLibre with plugins), desktop GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS) and server tools — without custom code.
| Standard | Version | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Web Map Service (WMS) | 1.3.0 | WMS |
| Web Feature Service (WFS) | 1.1.0 | WFS |
| Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) | 1.0.0 | WMTS |
| Web Coverage Service (WCS) | 1.0.0 | WCS (no coverages published at present) |
| Filter Encoding (in WFS requests) | 1.1.0 | WFS |
What this gives you:
- Plug and play: add the service URL to QGIS or another GIS client and browse the layers directly.
- Standard requests and formats: the same parameters work as with any other OGC server (GetCapabilities, GetMap, GetFeature, GetTile …), with standard formats such as PNG, GML and GeoJSON.
- Coordinate systems: layers can be requested in the coordinate systems listed in GetCapabilities (e.g. EPSG:4326, EPSG:3857).
