The geo server is an OGC Web Coverage Service (WCS 1.0.0): it returns raster layers (coverages) as data — the cell values themselves, in formats such as GeoTIFF — instead of a styled picture.

What you can do with it:

List the coverages with GetCapabilities and see their extent, coordinate systems and formats with DescribeCoverage.
Download raster data for an area and resolution with GetCoverage, for analysis in GIS software.

The service is enabled, but no coverages are published at present: the project's layers are vectors, which are served by WFS and drawn by WMS. Coverages will appear in the WCS GetCapabilities document when raster layers are published. See also GetCapabilities about request load.
